Worship Ministry Opportunities

Acolyte

Middle School students in this ministry help carry the cross or light the candles for worship at our 8:15 am service. 

 

Altar Guild

If you are an especially caring and detailed-oriented person, the Altar Guild team may be the right place for you.  The Altar Guild sets up communion as well as provides altar care throughout the year for our Traditional services in the Sanctuary. If you would like to be a part of an Altar Guild please contact Carol Carlson.

 

Audio / Visual Technicians

Volunteers operate the computer powerpoint presentations and the sound boards in both our Traditional and our CrossLife Praise & Worship services and rotate on a monthly basis.  Training is provided and additional techs are always welcome.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is under the direction of Mary Morgan and sings during worship on Sunday mornings at the 8:15 am Traditional Worship service and sings for special events throughout the Christmas and Lent season. If you would like to join the choir you may simply show up to practice. If you have questions, please contact the Church Office at 256.353.8759.

Rehearsal Time: Wednesdays  7:15-8:45 pm in the Sanctuary Balcony.

Handbell Choir

The St Paul's Handbell Choir rings at selected services throughout the year. If you read music and love to ring you will want to join in this opportunity to fellowship with a few ringers. The Handbell Choir is under the direction of Mary Morgan. If you have any questions you may contact the Church Office at 256.353.8759.

Rehearsal Time: Every Wednesday 6:00- 7:15 pm in the Sanctuary Balcony.

Tonechime Choir

Children and youth are encouraged meet and learn to read handbell music and to play hand chimes.  The Tonechime Choir chimes at selected services throughout the year and is under the direciton of Mary Morgan.

Rehearsal Time: Every Wednesday 4:30 - 5:15 in the Sanctuary Balcony.

Praise & Worship Band

Audience of One leads music for the 10:45 am CrossLife service.  The group is primarily made up of drums, bass, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, and vocals.  A servant's heart, in addition to musical skill, is at the core of what's required to be on the team.  Contact Pastor Kretzschmar to set up an interview/audition to be on the team.

Rehearsal Time: Wednesday, 7:15 pm in the ARC.

Ushers and Host Families

If you have the special gift of making others feel welcomed, then we would love for you to join our team.  Ushers and hosts are needed for all worship services at St Paul's to greet and assist our worshipers. If you are interested in becoming part of an usher team please contact the Church Office at 256.353.8759.
