Weddings at St. Paul’s
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be glad to share wedding policy guidelines and pray with you to make your wedding a blessed day! Simply call the church office (256.353.8759) for more details. Here are few of the guidelines that will be helpful for couples planning a wedding at St. Paul’s:
1) Pre-marital Counseling.
a) All couples are required to work through a Prepare/Enrich pre-marital inventory with one of our pastors. Prepare/Enrich is nationally recognized as one of the best pre-marriage tools available to couples today! Pastor Eddie is a trained Prepare/Enrich counselor.
b) There is a $35.00 assessment fee due at the time the inventory is taken.
2) Scheduling.
a) The desired date and time of your wedding and rehearsal must be scheduled simultaneously
i) with the church office to confirm the availability of the facilities
ii) with the officiating pastor
iii) with the church organist
b If a non-Lutheran pastor is desired to officiate your wedding:
i) he will need to meet with one of St. Paul’s pastors prior to the wedding; and
ii) one of St. Paul’s pastors will also need to be a part of the wedding ceremony and therefore scheduled to be present.
c) Saturday weddings in the Sanctuary cannot begin later than 4 pm or earlier than 7 pm because we have a 5:30 pm Saturday Night Life worship service in the Sanctuary.
d) To prevent miscommunication, the final proof of your wedding invitation and wedding program must be given to the officiating pastor for confirmation before you have it printed.
3) Costs.
a) Prepare/Enrich Pre-marital Inventory Assessment Fee of $35.00 due at the time the inventory is taken.
b) Janitorial Fees due one week before the wedding date:
i) $75 for use of the Sanctuary (decorating, undecorating and return of items as they were found are the responsibility of the wedding party).
ii) $50 for each use of the Fellowship Room or Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) for the rehearsal dinner or the reception (decorating, undecorating and return of items as they were found are the responsibility of the wedding party).
c) Organist Fee (varies with the degree of involvement by the organist - please discuss music selection and fees with the church organist at least one month prior to the ceremony).
d) A/V Tech Fee of $50 due one week before the wedding date. The services of a St. Paul’s A/V Tech are required to operate the A/V equipment if there are additional musicians, vocalists or a CD or DVD presentation. Please discuss with the officiating pastor at least 2 weeks prior to the ceremony so that the A/V Tech may be scheduled.
e) Clergy Honorarium (at the discretion of the wedding couple).
