I am Eddie Scheler – a child of the living God and Senior Pastor at St. Paul’s!
My calling is for vision and leadership of the congregation with oversight of administration and staff coordination.  I am excited to have on my job description community partnerships and outreach, something we are asking all of our full time staff members to do!   I am blessed with a beautiful wife and 3 daughters – Trish, Christa, Samantha, Rachel – as well as a beautiful church family!  I treasure your prayers as I carry out God’s calling on my life as believer, husband, father and pastor!

Excited to be in ministry, my role is to lead the high school youth program, the Prophets, and to provide care ministry to our sick, hospitalized, and those confined to their homes. I partner with Pastor Eddie with the leadership of the church services and the overall spiritual care of all who are involved with our congregation. I am married to my wonderful wife, Laura, who works at Huntsville Hospital caring for the patients in the Coronary Care Unit. We have been blessed by St Paul’s' amazingly loving and caring nature, and we hope that we are able to share that blessing with others!

While I have been the Director of Children’s Music at St. Paul’s for only a few years, I have been teaching music to children and sharing my musical gifts since my husband, Eddie, and I have been in ministry.
Teaching both vocal and instrumental music to children from preschool age to middle school, I encourage children to use their gifts to glorify God in worship and in the community including local area nursing homes.  To compliment this ministry, I also teach private piano lessons and involve my students in worship services on a regular basis.

A member of St. Paul’s for forty five years and a former band director at Austin High School, I direct the Chancel Choir and the Handbell Choir.  Both of these organizations praise our Savior through their music in both the 8:15 and 10:45 Liturgical services as well as in combined worship celebrations.  My wife, Sharon, sings in the choir, and we have two daughters, Kim and Krista, who are happily married and both living in Atlanta.  Our three grandchildren are truly blessings from God, and we always look forward to seeing them whenever possible.

CrossLife Worship Coordinator

I am the coordinator and worship leader for CrossLife, the Praise and Worship Service here at St. Paul’s. I am also a member of Audience of One, the praise band for CrossLife, and write worship songs for the band as well. I have two passions in my journey with God...worship and growing up in my faith. I thoroughly enjoy having a venue such as CrossLife where I have the opportunity to enter into awesome worship that is in spirit and in truth... as well as being fun! I treasure my time with my family, my small group, and my Power Hour Class where I am constantly learning how to live out my faith in our culture. I am blessed with a lovely and talented wife, Cathy, as well as three grown daughters, Erin, Valerie, and Olivia.

Art
Gaertner

LIturgical
Worship Coordinator

As a member of St. Paul’s for 20 years, the pastoral staff finally succumbed to my telling them how I thought the services should be crafted and gave the task to me.  First and foremost, I want our services to be worshipful, but I don’t want any visitors to get lost in our liturgy.  Additionally, I don’t want any of our “cradle Lutherans” to find themselves worshiping on “auto-pilot” as I found myself on some occasions.  We are exceptionally fortunate as Lutheran Christians to have a wealth of liturgical resources and hymns from which to draw.  Some are old and dear to us while some are newer and not as familiar.  All are useful in attuning our hearts to meaningful worship.
To God be the Glory.

Hi! My main responsibility at St. Paul’s is to connect our members with ministry opportunities so that they can serve Jesus whether that ministry be one here at St Paul’s  or in our community. I am also a staff support person for the church office.
I am blessed with a wonderful family: husband Mike, our 4 children and 7 grandchildren; our small group members, which have become our extended family; and we are lovingly owned by 5 family dogs and countless foster dogs. When I am not at church you can find me spending time with family, volunteering with Small Paws Rescue, a Bichon Frise dog rescue organization, cooking/baking, reading or working on one of my many craft projects.

Charlotte Bradley
Childcare Coordinator
St. Paul’s Nursery Supervisor / Boys & Girls Club Director

/files/About Us/about us pics/Staff pics/Charlotte Bradley.jpg

Having a dual role at St. Paul’s allows me to utilize my business degree while feeding my love for children. As the Childcare Coordinator, some of my responsibilities are to make sure the Nursery is running smoothly and properly staffed for any service or special event. I also plan and implement the curriculum used during worship services, which includes a story and correlating craft. My primary objective for the Nursery is to make every child feel as if he/she is my favorite and to assure the parents that they can relax and know that their children are in a safe and loving environment.   Some of my duties as the Boys and Girls Club Director are to plan and implement the schedule for the after-school and summer programs, interact with the parents and children, collect weekly fees, run National B & G Club Programs, and maintain a daily tracking system of what activities are being executed throughout the day for each child.   My hobbies are scrap-booking, playing softball, baking, and meeting people. I’m married to a wonderful man name Leon, and we share one daughter together, Christen, who is truly the light of our lives. I’m a home school mom and it’s my desire to train my daughter to love and put God first and recognize that God is a God of order and our lives should be governed that way.
